In the 19th century, this hamlet was home to the farmers of Prince Spada Potenziani’s agricultural estate, who worked the surrounding countryside—the very land where our “Rosea” farm stands today.

The Farm

Borgo d’Assio is surrounded by a flourishing farm that produces vegetables, wheat, corn, and hay.

Our biodynamic vegetable garden supplies the Borgo’s restaurants, while other crops are dedicated to animal feed. Finally, our olive grove ensures the production of precious extra virgin olive oil, which we use daily in our culinary offerings.

The Archaeological Site

Just a short walk from the Borgo lie the remains of a Roman villa dating back to the 1st century BC, which once belonged to Consul Quintus Axius.

In ancient Rome, this was a luxurious thermal villa; today, visitors can still explore its impressive perimeter walls and, above all, an intriguing underground system of tunnels and waterworks.
