Since 2005, following a meticulous restoration process, BORGO D’ASSIO has welcomed guests as an enchanting haven of hospitality. Nestled within a vast natural park, it offers a warm, sincere, and authentic welcome.
Historically a farming hamlet belonging to Prince Spada Potenziani, the estate was lovingly restored by Mr. Mauro Angeletti. His vision was to share with future guests the emotions, simplicity, and quality of the rural “dolce vita.”
The estate’s history boasts even more ancient origins: its name derives from the ruins of the Roman villa that once belonged to Consul Quintus Axius, who lived in the 1st century BC. The villa was frequented by prominent historical figures such as Marcus Terentius Varro and Marcus Tullius Cicero. Today, the ruins and the ancient cistern are located within the park, just a short walk from the Borgo, and can be easily visited.
